Strathberry is a luxury leather goods brand that prides itself on its unique and high-quality products. With a strong international presence and a keen focus on sustainability, the company is looking for a skilled Product Development and Production Manager to join its team.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and organized individual to manage our Product Development and Production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from design to delivery, and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and excellence.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product development and production, with experience in managing small teams and working in a fast-paced environment. They will be able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Product Development and Production team, overseeing all aspects of operations, including raw material sourcing, product development, production, and on-time deliveries.
  • Supervise the Product Development, Sourcing, and Production process from sketch to delivery across multiple overseas suppliers.
  • Collaborate closely with the design team to ensure the design vision is well executed and key dates are met.
  • Liaise regularly with Merchandising, Ecommerce, Wholesale, and Marketing teams to update status and meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to and lead on our sourcing and supplier strategy.
  • Proactively address PD and Production issues and support the team to resolve them.
  • Understand supplier capabilities, material, and production challenges, and support in finding solutions.
  • Oversee the end-to-end production process, ensuring adherence to critical path, while delivering exceptional quality.
  • Monitor department KPIs against the plan, ensuring we achieve our goals.
  • Continually source new suppliers for improved innovation, quality, price, and delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers globally.
  • Strive to extend product life, supporting the brand to become market leaders in product longevity.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and sustainable practices, integrating them into our sourcing and production strategies to drive innovation and social responsibility.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced individual who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience (10 years+) in a similar role, with experience of managing small teams.
  • Experience in PD and Production, ideally within the luxury leather goods sector.
  • Ability to adapt well to change, and experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong communication skills, be highly motivated, and driven for success.
  • Highly organized and able to juggle competing priorities, with fantastic attention to detail.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
