Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Facilities Operations Engineer to join our team at Amazon. This role will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the physical infrastructure of our data centres, ensuring the highest standards of safety and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain the data centre's physical infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external teams, providing technical expertise and support.
  • Assist in the development of communication and escalation protocols to improve team performance.
  • Contribute to outage post-mortem analysis and ensure records are updated in a timely manner.
  • Assist with coordination and communication during emergency recovery efforts.
  • Develop tools to enhance team performance and support a 24/7 environment.
Requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize in a complex environment.
  • High standards and a strong customer focus approach.
  • Ability to communicate with senior leaders and maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting tools.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and ability to follow and complete support procedures.
  • Root cause analysis and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Able to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Self-starter with good judgment and instincts in decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years' experience in a NOC (Network Operations Centre) or similar.
  • 2+ years' experience in Data Centre Engineering/Operations.
  • 1+ year of experience working with Building and/or Electrical Platform Management Systems.
