Opportunity for a Consultant in Microbiology

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant in Microbiology to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a Consultant in Microbiology, you will play a key role in providing a comprehensive Microbiology service to our resident population of approximately 500,000.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide a proactive, dynamic, and consultative link between clinicians, patients, and the laboratory service.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the induction programme for new consultants, which includes monthly education sessions on topics such as finance and contracts.

About the Role

The Consultant Microbiologists will work as part of a team of 4 Consultants who provide a comprehensive Microbiology service. The department provides a range of services for our resident population and extends to the borders of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, West Hertfordshire, and Essex.

Stevenage has great transport links and is only 20 minutes from London by train. The town thrives with shops, cafes, supermarkets, and restaurants.
