Job Description

This Senior Clinical Fellow position in Vascular Surgery is ideal for doctors working towards a consultant level appointment, offering further training and expertise in the treatment of complex vascular procedures. The successful candidate will support the service in clinical and research activities, participating in on-call and emergency work to expose them to the full range of complex tertiary services provided by the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing skills in full range of open arterial surgery, endovascular aneurysm repair, minimally invasive venous procedures, and lymphoedema surgery.
  • Providing clinical services for vascular surgery patients in support of consultant surgeons.
  • Mentoring less experienced colleagues and participating in clinical audit and research projects.
  • Covering clinical areas including theatres, wards, vascular high dependency intensive overnight recovery unit, and outpatients.
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, applicants must have:

  • A Medical Degree.
  • Advanced Life Support certification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Desirable qualifications include FRCS or Equivalent, Higher degree, management training, experience of clinical research, teaching training, and previous surgical experience.
