Job Title: Director of Finance and Operations



FryerMiles Recruitment is partnering with a leading education sector client to find a highly skilled Director of Finance and Operations for a permanent role. This position involves providing financial oversight, compliance, and staff leadership while delivering strategic insights to senior management, trustees, and stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the financial strategy, ensure compliance and sustainability
  • Oversee financial procedures, systems, and corporate services, including finance, risk management, legal, and governance
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors and manage annual audits
  • Ensure efficient financial administration of non-curricular activities, trips, lettings, and third-party income
  • Lead on the maintenance of risk registers and advise on financial risk management
  • Secure and manage government funding
  • Oversee payroll preparation and compliance with pensions and tax regulations
  • Support the HR Manager with financial administration of staff appointments and other HR-related financial tasks


The ideal candidate should have:




  • Relevant experience in the education sector
  • Strong management skills
  • Ideal: fully qualified accountant
  • Able to commute to the office 5 days a week
