Job Title: Licensing Enforcement Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensing Enforcement Officer to join our team at North Yorkshire Council. As a key member of our Licensing Service, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and determine licence applications, ensuring compliance with licensing law and regulations.
  • Conduct regular visits and checks to monitor and enforce licensing requirements in the Northallerton and Richmond areas.
  • Lead in specialist areas of work, including policy development, report preparation, and presentation to committees and tribunals.
  • Collaborate with statutory bodies, such as the Police and Children's Services, to achieve joint enforcement and partnership working.
Requirements:
  • Sound knowledge of law, statutory guidance, and policy in relation to Licensing.
  • Experience of presenting to court or at licensing hearings.
  • Ability to work in partnership and carry out joint enforcement with statutory bodies.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between offices.
