Independence and Community Services Lead

At Age UK Birmingham, we are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to lead our Independence at Home Services. As our new Independence Support Services Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of excellent service to older individuals through various programs, including the Birmingham Home Falls Prevention Service, Sandwell Improving Strength & Balance for Falls Prevention Programme, and Dudley Footcare Service.
Job PurposeTo oversee the development and coordination of a portfolio of services and projects aimed at promoting safe, independent living for older people. Ensure a high-quality, person-centered experience for service users in line with current best practice.
This role requires strong leadership skills, as you will manage all independent living projects and achieve targets set by funding contracts. You will also be responsible for managing and supporting staff and volunteers to achieve high-quality person-centered delivery and targets.
We are looking for someone who can create and implement an effective marketing plan to promote services and projects. Additionally, you will ensure risk assessments are carried out for all activities and health and safety procedures are followed.
You will also be responsible for ensuring the safeguarding process and reporting mechanisms are followed. Managing expenditure within allocated budgets is another crucial aspect of this role. Staying up-to-date with developments in falls prevention best practice is essential.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop partnerships with key stakeholders such as Health & Social Care Workers and other voluntary sector organizations.
As our Independence Support Services Manager, you will play a vital role in representing Age UK Birmingham at strategic partnership meetings and contributing to Operations Team Meetings. A comprehensive understanding of the importance of monitoring and evaluating the service user experience to develop and improve services is required.
