About the Role

CK Group is seeking a highly skilled Lab Operations Specialist to join their team in the Clinical Research industry. This is a contract position based on-site in Livingston, West Lothian, for an initial 6-month period.

About the Company

Our client is a global Contract Research Organization (CRO) dedicated to driving healthcare forward and improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Improvement: Assist in troubleshooting and implementing process improvements to enhance data quality, reduce costs, and decrease turnaround times.
  • Technical Support: Serve as a technical resource for laboratory staff and provide support to the team in the absence of the line manager.
  • Data Analysis: Perform routine data analysis to ensure analytical procedures are proceeding as expected and results are within acceptable tolerances.
  • Error Identification: Identify and document potential performance errors or unusual results and escalate to senior laboratory personnel.
  • Results Preparation: Prepare data analysis results for upload to the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) under the guidance of senior-level staff.
  • CAPA Investigations: Contribute to Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) investigations, deviations, and resolution.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (Some CAP/CLIA lab locations may require a BSc in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, medical laboratory technology, or cytotechnology).
  • Experience: Previous working experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
  • Skills: Proficiency with routine and some non-routine laboratory calculations regarding batches and specimens, including averages, means, standard deviations, and various quality control metrics.
  • Computer Skills: Good computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
