Geographic Mapping Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Geographic Mapping Specialist to join our team of digital map editors. As a specialist in geographic information systems, you will be responsible for producing digital vector mapping from various source materials and creating deliverables that meet client requirements.

You will have a good knowledge of computer systems, be confident creating vector data using an imagery backdrop, and be able to interpret other sources of information such as maps, textual location descriptions, and geospatial database information to enrich our mapping products.

Primary tasks include performing editing, data processing, topological checks, visual checks for completeness, and final output utilizing software packages such as StruMap (NEC) and ESRI ArcMap. Experience with these environments is helpful but not compulsory as full project-related training will be provided.

The ability to work to and understand a very detailed and extensive specification is important, as are good teamworking and communication skills. Your excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail will enable you to produce high-quality mapping products.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000-$110,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
