A highly skilled Data Engineer is required to contribute to the creation of a new data warehouse using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric. This role will involve designing and developing a robust Data Warehouse, optimising it for performance and scalability.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Microsoft Azure ecosystem tools, specifically Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Azure SQL. A solid understanding of ETL tools and methods, as well as experience in CI/CD practices for data solutions, is also essential.

This contract opportunity offers a competitive daily rate of £500-550, with occasional travel to Manchester required. The majority of work will be done remotely, making this an ideal position for those seeking flexibility in their work arrangements.

In this role, you will work closely with the Data and Reporting team to build a new data warehouse that enhances data-driven decision-making and supports organisational growth. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop a new data warehouse and data pipelines using Microsoft Azure.
  • Integrate various data sources, including APIs, files, and databases, into the Data Platform.
  • Manage end-to-end ETL/ELT processes, including a dimensionally modelled semantic layer.
  • Define and enforce data quality measures within pipelines to ensure data integrity.
  • Set up monitoring and alerting systems for data solutions.
  • Create and manage CI/CD pipelines for the Data Platform.
  • Translate stakeholder requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure ecosystem tools.
  • Solid understanding of ETL tools and methods.
  • Experience in CI/CD practices for data solutions.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric is beneficial.
  • Ability to work within an Agile Kanban framework.
