We are seeking a skilled Service Delivery Specialist to join our team at Northern Balance. As a leading specialist in calibrations, testing, maintenance, supply and installation of weighing equipment and processes, we support critical industries including Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Food and Drinks and Life Sciences.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding our services within the Reading area and occasional travel to Bristol. You will provide expert advice and hands-on support to customers, utilising your technical expertise to ensure their regulatory and operational goals are met.

To succeed in this position, you must be personable, approachable, and meticulous with excellent communication skills. You should have a knack for understanding problems and finding solutions quickly, as well as thrive on collaborating with all stakeholders to deliver first-class customer service.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Calibrate, test, repair, maintain, supply and install weighing equipment in lab and industrial environments.
  • Prepare and complete calibration documentation and job-related administration including certificates and worksheets.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to help customers achieve their weighing objectives and prevent avoidable issues.
  • Engage with customers to understand their weighing goals and advise on best-fit solutions.
  • Adhere with the Company's Quality Management System (QMS) to safeguard the quality, consistency, and reliability of our services.
  • Care and manual handling of weights and weighing equipment.
  • Proactively communicate timely details of appointments and related orders with customers to support customer satisfaction.
  • Work with Engineering, Customer Services and the Quality team members and external suppliers to deliver at pace, implement best practices and/or resolutions for customers.

The essential attributes required for this position include:

  • An engineering, electrical, or electro-mechanical background.
  • Experience of working within an ISO 9001 quality-driven business.
  • A track record of providing high standards of front-line customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Self-motivation to work on own and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in English, math and IT.
  • A full valid UK driving licence.

Additionally, desirable attributes include:

  • An interest in advancing a career within Metrology and other related measurement disciplines.
  • An understanding of weighing processes, particularly conformance with ISO 17025 calibration standards is an advantage.

We offer a competitive salary of approximately £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including:
