Key Job Responsibilities

As an experienced Principal Layout Designer, you will work on a variety of layout designs from concept stage through to functioning construction/detailed layouts.

  • Collaborate with the wider business to ensure critical analysis of layouts with regard to house types/street scene aesthetics and site constraints has been fully accommodated, whilst maintaining a 'buildability first' mindset.
  • Ensure stakeholder considerations, recommendations and approvals are obtained and incorporated.
  • Assist with the development and management of the group house type portfolio.

Additional responsibilities include assisting in maintaining working drawing packages, submitting technical information to NHBC/Building Control, and coordinating information between third-party companies to enable the design of specialist building components.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong Layout Design experience for Land Bids / Feasibility studies & Master Planning within New Build Housing operations.
  • HNC/Level 4 in construction/urban design is essential.
  • Foundation degree/HND/Level 5 is desirable.
  • Good knowledge/experience using AutoCAD/Revit or similar industry-standard software.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
About This Opportunity

This is a fantastic role for a Layout Designer / Architectural Technician / Architect with a strong understanding of reserved matters application, master planning, feasibility layouts, street scene creation, NHBC standards & Building Regulations (CDM 2015 etc.).

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in New Build Housing (NHBC / CDM 2015 Reg's) and traditional housebuilding knowledge/experience.
