Project Engineer Hybrid OBD (EV) Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer Hybrid OBD (EV) to join our client's team, a world-renowned luxury car manufacturer. The successful candidate will enable the production of in-house and outsourced powertrain software, hardware, and calibrations for future Hybrid and Electric powertrain families.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and support powertrain software and calibration activity on defined projects, ensuring seamless knowledge distribution within the team.
  2. Collaborate with the team to agree and verify Hybrid OBD requirements in-line with system design specifications.
  3. Deliver a comprehensive understanding of the role OBD plays within the hybrid vehicle platform to the wider OBD team.
  4. Prepare and present reports of findings from test bed, rig, vehicle testing, and environmental testing to all levels, including director technical meetings.
  5. Oversee the progress and reporting for all Hybrid concept deliverables, ensuring they meet cost, time, and quality targets.
  6. Lead and manage OBD activity within the Hybrid Concept team on defined vehicle programmes, adhering to Global Regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  1. Degree-level Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  2. Recent direct experience of Hybrid On-Board Diagnostics and application of new technologies, including Hybrid & BEV vehicles.
  3. Robust experience in a Senior Engineer position within an automotive vehicle manufacturer or consultancy, with direct knowledge of On-Board diagnostics and experience in delivering calibration of gasoline engines on test bed and in vehicle to meet legislative requirements.
