Nimbuscare Ltd is a leading provider of mental health services, committed to delivering high-quality care to individuals and communities. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team as a Clinical Specialist.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment or interventions for patients with mental health needs.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to colleagues, ensuring effective and safe patient care.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary teams, including secondary care, social workers, and voluntary sector staff, to promote patient wellbeing and mental health.
- Manage patient risk effectively, including high levels of complexity and uncertainty.
- Support the implementation of national and local policies impacting patient health and wellbeing.
- Utilize other clinical staff appropriately to ensure safe and effective patient care, demonstrating awareness of own limitations.
- Provide safe, evidence-based, and individualized patient care.
- Refer patients to other services or agencies as appropriate, utilizing local guidelines and in a timely manner.
- Provide information and advice on prescribed and over-the-counter medication, including regimens, side effects, and interactions.
- Prioritize health problems and intervene appropriately to assist patients in complex, urgent, or emergency situations.
- Improve clinical outcomes for patients by enabling them to function independently, reducing the need for hospital admission, and promoting healthy living.
- Establish effective working relationships with patients, their families, and carers, including education and promoting individual rights.
- Recognize and work within own competence and in accordance with professional codes of conduct.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation and records, utilizing IT as appropriate.
- Follow agreed protocols, referring to GPs as necessary.
- Follow local and national Infection Control guidelines.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and report defective equipment.
- Take responsibility for ensuring equipment is properly cared for and secured.

Learning and Development- Participate in training programs implemented by Nimbuscare Ltd, including maintaining a record of personal and professional development.
- Work with senior management to assess learning needs and undertake learning as necessary.
- Develop and utilize a written Personal Development Plan.
- Make effective use of learning opportunities within and outside the workplace, evaluating their effectiveness and sharing relevant information.
- Disseminate learning and information gained to other team members to share good practice and inform others about current and future developments.
- Undertake mandatory and statutory training as required.
- Understand own role and scope within the organization and identify how this may develop over time.
- Work as an effective and responsible team member, supporting others and exploring new ways of working.
- Accept delegation from senior staff, prioritize own workload, and ensure effective time management strategies are embedded in own practice.
- Participate in team activities that create opportunities to improve patient care.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities and making suggestions for improvement.
- Delegate clearly and appropriately, adopting the principles of safe practice and assessing the competence of those taking on delegated duties.

Health & Safety- Assist in promoting and maintaining own and others' health, safety, and security, as defined in the Nimbuscare Ltd Health and Safety Policy.
- Use personal security systems within the workplace according to guidelines.
- Identify risks involved in work activities and undertake such activities in a way that manages those risks.
- Make effective use of training to update knowledge and skills.
- Use appropriate infection control procedures, maintain work areas in a tidy and safe manner, and free from hazards.
- Report potential risks identified.
- Act in a way that recognizes the importance of people's rights, interpreting them in a way that is consistent with Nimbuscare Ltd procedures and policies, and current legislation.
