About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to take on a clinical lead position within our team at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership and support to Occupational Therapists across the service, promoting the role of occupational therapy within the multidisciplinary team and developing the occupational therapy pathway within the service.

Key responsibilities include providing expert clinical knowledge to support occupational therapy assessment, intervention, and evaluation, as well as overseeing and supporting a varied clinical caseload and providing person-centred and needs-led care.

The ideal candidate will have a good level of post-registration experience in mental health or rehabilitation, experience of working with complex forensic cases, and experience of supervising and supporting junior staff and students.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced clinical skills relevant to the speciality
  • Good knowledge of clinical governance and clinical audit/research
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good knowledge and awareness of current legislation and guidance pertaining to Mental Health rehabilitation and its implications for Occupational Therapy
  • A good understanding of recovery concepts within Mental Health Rehabilitation services
  • Ability to work under pressure and set priorities
  • Good knowledge of effective care management and planning of treatment packages
  • Ability to manage own caseload and work as part of a team
  • Group leadership skills
  • Excellent negotiation and organisational skills, with individuals and groups
  • Good knowledge of the principles of Clinical Governance
  • Computer literacy
  • Skills in handling and moving
