As the ideal candidate, you will have a deep understanding of mechanical assets, including legislation, safety protocols, and best practices. With a strong background in mechanical engineering and leadership, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Safe Systems of Work and developing fleet-wide engineering standards. Your experience in managing projects, outages, and health and safety issues will be invaluable in this role.

This is a home-based position with travel requirements, offering a competitive salary, car allowance, pension matching, and bonus opportunities. If you have a passion for mechanical engineering and leadership, and are looking for a rewarding role in the Power sector, please apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Engineering support for all EFW assets related to mechanical plant issues.
  2. Management and delivery of mechanical projects, outages, and plant upgrades.
  3. Ensuring compliance with Safe Systems of Work as defined by the Safety Rules for all work.
  4. Supporting the development of each asset's CMMS to meet engineering standards and best practice.
  5. Development and ongoing review of fleet-wide Engineering standards.
  6. Providing oversight on Health & Safety issues relating to Mechanical Assets and supporting the Authorising Engineer.
  7. Management and ownership of the GENSIP Mechanical standards and acting as company representative.
  8. Leading plant performance and improvement projects focusing on mechanical assets.
Requirements:
  1. Degree in a related Engineering field such as Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Holder of NEBOSH or at least IOSH in Health & Safety (or similar).
Personal Skills:
  1. Extensive knowledge of legislation relating to mechanical assets including LOLER, PUWER, and PSSR as well as Safe Systems of Work, Safety Rules, and Permit to Work Systems.
  2. At least three years of supervisory experience in a relevant Engineering/Fleet/Asset position.
  3. Experience with mass burn Energy from Waste; other forms of Power Generation will be considered.
  4. Experience managing projects and outages.
