Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Pharmacy Stores team at York Hospital. The successful candidate will have excellent manual handling skills and a flexible, can-do attitude.

Main Duties of the Job

This role involves working in a busy pharmacy store, receiving, processing, and delivering medicines and IV fluids to wards. Previous experience of manual handling would be beneficial, and an understanding of stock management is crucial to this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving, processing, and delivering medicines and IV fluids to wards
  • Checking, receiving, and storing medicines
  • Ensuring that medicines are stored appropriately and securely
  • Participating in stock-taking and the checking of medicines
  • Undertaking various housekeeping duties, including dealing with queries, checking, and filing documents, processing waste and excess medicines

Requirements

  • Basic key skills, preferably gained through secondary education
  • Ability to use a range of computer programmes relevant to the post
  • Flexible to changing work routines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to handle moderate loads
  • Willingness to complete a funded Level 2 qualification in pharmacy services
