Job Summary

We are seeking a talented Hardware Design Engineer to join our team, responsible for developing innovative hardware designs and contributing to the development of solutions that have a direct impact on the telecommunications and wireless industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop hardware components, including circuit design, prototyping, testing, and verification.
  • Develop Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layouts, assemblies, and systems for manufacture.
  • Prototype test new designs and troubleshoot issues.
  • Produce design documentation to ensure long-term support of the product.
  • Archive designs (software and hardware) to preserve company intellectual property.
  • Develop bespoke test tools for designs, using Gitlab for version control and collaborative software development.
  • Plan and prioritize work to meet project timescales.
  • Provide weekly status reports on projects.
  • Liaise with manufacturing, product management, marketing, and after-sales support teams as required.
Requirements
  • Experience with PCB design layout, schematic design, and debugging.
  • Knowledge of high-speed digital design, radio systems architecture, and radio circuit simulation.
  • Experience with system test and characterization, hand soldering, and debugging using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with excellent attention to detail and a passion for quality.
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of Software Defined Radios and Digital Signal Processing algorithms.
  • Experience with FPGA design using Verilog or VHDL design language.
  • Experience using Linux embedded systems, microcontrollers, and SOC devices.
  • Experience writing embedded software in C and Assembler.
