Job Title: File Server Migration Specialist

Nuffield Health is seeking a highly skilled File Server Migration Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for migrating files from Windows Server environments to SharePoint and OneDrive across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire data migration process site by site, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Collate current file shares information and perform basic data cleansing to ensure accurate and efficient migration.
  • Work closely with the SharePoint team to map and reassign permissions based on pre-defined group membership within SharePoint.
  • Proactively drive continuous improvement within project processes to ensure timely and successful migrations.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to understand file structure and user requirements, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide input on documentation and user-guides to support end-user training and data cleansing activities.
  • Ensure data integrity and security during the migration process, adhering to Nuffield Health's strict information security standards.
  • Conduct post-migration checks to verify the successful transfer of files and address any discrepancies identified during the migration.
Requirements:
  • Experience in planning and executing large-scale file migrations, with a proven track record of successful migrations.
  • Demonstrable previous migration of data to SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Windows file shares from various legacy systems.
  • Subject-matter expert in Windows-based file store migrations to OneDrive, file share migration between domains, NTFS file permissions, and AD security groups.
  • Proficient in Windows Servers, with a strong understanding of SharePoint migration tools and methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Networking technologies relevant to Microsoft 365 and relevant information security standards.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
