Alexander Lloyd is delighted to be partnering with an engineering organisation, on the recruitment of a Training and Development Lead.

This role will involve working closely with the Learning & Development team, focusing on all trainee development including apprentices, graduates and apprentice recruitment, with day-to-day management of all related activity.

Key duties include:

  • Managing and leading the apprentice scheme and graduate development, supporting all their UK apprentices, graduates and other trainees
  • Working strategically and operationally with key stakeholders to board level
  • Leading on apprentice recruitment and working with the L&D Director and L&D Coordinator and business apprentice leads to forward plan recruitment effectively. This involves placing adverts, attending careers fairs, vetting and shortlisting applications, interviewing candidates and making offers
  • Developing and managing relationships with a growing number of training providers including colleges, universities, and other course providers. With the L&D Coordinator, leading social value activity with schools and charitable learning organisations they support
  • Managing the relationship with the Technical Apprenticeship Consortium (TAC), acting as lead representative for meetings and liaison
  • Supporting apprentices to meet 20% off-the-job learning needs, achieve their qualifications and pass End Point Assessments
  • Leading on existing initiatives such as the annual Apprentice Development Programme
  • Seeking ways to bring all trainee groups together (e.g. apprentices and graduates) with unified initiatives
  • Leading on all trainee reporting, activity planning and evaluation and supporting the L&D Director on wider L&D planning, reporting and evaluation
  • Managing and supporting other areas of L&D activity as and when needed such as personal development courses, management & leadership development, coaching and e-learning amongst others
  • Designing and developing learning initiatives as needed along with relevant learning materials
  • Identifying ways to further utilise our e-learning platform for trainee development

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading engineering organisation in Surrey, London and surrounding areas. The salary for this role is estimated to be around £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
