Principal/Associate Sustainability Consultant

Hydrock is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal/Associate Sustainability Consultant to join our Smart Energy and Sustainability team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the development and delivery of complex projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with client teams to identify opportunities for sustainable design measures and energy and carbon reduction initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to influence decision-makers and foster improvement.
  • Prepare high-quality energy, sustainability, and climate change reporting to provide advice to clients and project teams.
  • Manage data effectively, including setting up and maintaining project databases and calculation sheets.
  • Participate in external expert forums to advance and standardize environmental sustainability performance quantification.
  • Train and upskill junior team members on relevant workstreams and project management activities.
  • Contribute to regional business development activities and sales generation.
  • Lead technical aspects of building environmental modelling, building physics, and sustainability-related projects.
Requirements:
  • Hold a relevant degree, BEng (Hons) or BSc (Hons) or equivalent/higher.
  • Proven experience working as a consultant, with a track record of project delivery, client engagement, project management, financial, and people management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building environmental design and sustainability in the built environment.
  • Experience working with building environmental modelling, building physics, and other sustainability models.
  • Familiarity with IES modelling, including Radiance, ApacheSIM, SBEM, and Macroflow.
  • Experience working with master planning and planning across various asset classes.
  • A strong client base of developers, planning consultants, architects, and propcos.
Desirable Attributes:
  • Hold chartership/membership of relevant technical institutions.
  • Net Zero Advisor/Decarb/WLC modelling experience.
  • Familiarity with Climate risk assessment.
  • Biodiversity net gain and nature-based solutions expertise.
  • Team/people management skills.
  • Other related experience (e.g., renewables sector).
