About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Associate with a proven track record in commercial Real Estate matters to join our expanding Transactional Real Estate team in Glasgow.

As a key member of our team, you will act for a number of FTSE 100 clients in all aspects of commercial real estate, with a focus on investors and developers.

You will be working on a variety of real estate work, including asset management, acquisitions and sales, leasing and working as part of some of the firm's principle client teams.

About the Team:

The Real Estate Division is one of AG's largest, comprising a team in excess of 200. Within Scotland the Transactional Real Estate team works across the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices with colleagues and partners regularly working in both offices.

The team has a fantastic client base and an exceptional level of quality work relating to transactions right across the UK.

Culturally the team is incredibly supportive, motivated and down to earth and works closely together to provide the best service possible to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a wide variety of work including acting for investors and developers in the acquisition and disposal of commercial property.
  • Manage large-scale projects, utilising the latest legal technology and working closely with our Paralegal division and junior team members.
  • Work closely with existing clients to maintain and develop relationships, acting as a trusted advisor capable of providing timely and quality advice whilst managing expectations.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a cohesive team, to execute large-scale, high-value, client matters to the highest standard.
  • Supervise a trainee based with Glasgow TRE Team.
  • Work with the transaction services team (based in Glasgow and centrally) a significant paralegal team supporting client delivery and repeat tasks e.g registration, LBTT etc.
  • Participate in training sessions for more junior team members.
  • Attend regular local technical training and nationally organised skill training.
  • Participate in and organise business development activities.

About You:

We are looking for an experienced Associate with a proven track record in commercial Real Estate matters, seeking a new challenge within the Transactional Real Estate space.

You will possess excellent communication skills, a good understanding of real estate law and a willingness to learn and develop commercial awareness.

You will be enthusiastic, resilient and ambitious to find solutions to clients' legal challenges and requirements.

You will be a confident stakeholder manager, with evidenced experience of engaging with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.

You will have the right skill set to adopt a consultative and thorough approach to tasks.

You will be inquisitive and want to understand our clients, their drivers and what matters to them, so that your advice has quality, imagination and impact.

You will maintain efficient diary and task management across a range of matters, ensuring the accuracy and levels of client service expected within a high performing team.

You will be confident in drafting clear and legally effective documents, which reflect the client's instructions.

You will have the skill set to be calm and optimistic in time sensitive situations or under pressure.
