Oxford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom NHS Professionals Limited Full time

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiographer to join our team at NHS Professionals Limited. As a Radiographer, you will use advanced technology to help diagnose and monitor medical conditions, working closely with clinicians to guide crucial treatment decisions.

Main Responsibilities

Undertake a professional, high-quality imaging service to patients within a safe clinical environment, creating images of patients with potential illnesses or serious life-threatening conditions.

Adapt techniques to achieve high-quality diagnostic imaging for patients whose condition would otherwise prevent this without compromising care, demonstrating skill in this area.

Advise clinicians on the suitability and limitations of various treatment options available in the department, working closely with the team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities

The post holder must be clinically competent to safely and efficiently manipulate complex, specialised equipment associated with the planning and treatment of patients undergoing treatment with ionising radiation, ensuring accurate interpretation of complex treatment plans and prescriptions.

Support the team leader in the day-to-day management of their assigned pre-treatment or treatment work area, assisting in the organisation and management of the clinical workload, and providing guidance and support to less experienced members of staff and students.

Ensure that confidentiality and the dignity of patients is recognised and respected at all times, accurately reviewing and evaluating verification images, recommending action to be taken to improve treatment accuracy.

Collect and collate department statistical data regarding patient activity for the assigned clinical area, ensuring all equipment in their work area is kept clean and dust-free, and stored safely to prevent injury to patients and staff, and to prevent damage to equipment.
