Bury, Borough of Bury, United Kingdom Bury Council Full time
About the Role

The Adult Mental Health Practitioner will provide a dedicated response during daytime working hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. The role will be supported by a backup rota and contingency rota from other AMHPs across adult services in the borough.

The main purpose of the AMHP post is to provide an effective AMHP service to meet the needs of Bury residents, in line with Bury Council's statutory AMHP responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 1983.

The AMHP role will ensure that referrals to the service are managed within the resources provided in the scope of the AMHP rota. This may require the post holder to complete multiple assessments to meet service demand and occasionally work outside of the allocated working day.

Bury Council has a robust Time off in Lieu (TOIL) policy in place to support a work-life balance.

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and improving professional standards of practice and across the wider AMHP service through personal development and specialist AMHP-related training, including regular supervision.

The role will promote and incorporate principles and values set out in the Mental Health Act and the Mental Health Act Code of Practice and other relevant legislation.

The post holder will participate in undertaking all duties associated with the role of an AMHP.

This role will also receive two additional payment points.

About Bury Council

Bury Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.

Appointment may be subject to a satisfactory disclosure at the appropriate level under the Disclosure and Barring Service.

In line with safer recruitment, please ensure that your application/CV covers your full employment history and there is a reason noted for any gaps in employment.

Successful candidates will be asked to provide relevant references for the past ten years and character references will not be accepted.

Bury Council is a Corporate Parent and is committed to ensuring that the work and services delivered consider the needs of care-experienced young people, promote their life chances, empower them to influence policies and services, and champion their rights.
