About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Manage the day-to-day activities of the development team, providing direction and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary interface between developers and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.
  • Software Development: Lead the development and maintenance of production applications, ensuring robustness and scalability within the Azure environment.
  • Code Reviews: Conduct code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and performance.
  • Deployments: Oversee and manage deployments to production environments, ensuring smooth and reliable releases.
  • Project Management: Collaborate closely with the Director of Technology & Innovation to align development activities with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate and manage project timelines, ensuring that all deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Reporting: Report on project status, challenges, and progress to the Director of Technology & Innovation and other senior stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Monitor team performance and project outcomes, with a focus on improving efficiency and software quality.
  • Best Practices: Implement and advocate for best practices in software development, particularly in the use of Azure and JavaScript.
Requirements
  • Experience: 8+ years of software development experience.
  • Azure Experience: 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Azure to deliver applications across the full stack.
  • JavaScript Experience: 5+ years of experience using JavaScript/Nodejs.
  • Leadership Experience: At least 3 years of previous experience in leading development teams.
  • Code Review Experience: Strong experience completing code-reviews.
  • Technical Skills: Strong experience deploying stateless architecture techniques in a CI/CD pipeline, design, build, and maintenance of APIs using REST/Graph/etc., good version control using git, and producing clean and efficient code.
