Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a secondary pupil referral unit (PRU) in the Chorley area to find a dedicated and passionate teaching assistant to support a student with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) on a 1:1 basis.

The school provides a nurturing and restorative environment for pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education, offering a unique opportunity for students to rehabilitate and improve their behavior and learning.

The successful applicant will work closely with a Year 11 student who requires 1:1 support to stay engaged and motivated. The student faces challenges with anxiety and mental health issues, and the ideal candidate will be a dynamic and positive role model who can promote engagement and learning.

The role involves working on the school site in Chorley between 8:30-4:30 from Monday to Wednesday, and on Thursdays and Fridays from 9:30-2:30 at a gymnasium setting south of Chorley. The successful candidate will need to have access to their own transport or be based locally in the South Ribble area and able to take public transport.

The position will commence as soon as possible and will last for the entire 2024/25 academic year.
