About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious English Graduate to join our team as an Academic Mentor in a successful Secondary School in Hull.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students in Years 7-11 with their English studies
  • Leading 1:1 tutoring sessions to help students build confidence in the subject area
  • Delivering small group intervention sessions to support students who require additional help
  • Helping students feel confident in their GCSE exams

About the School

The school is a high-achieving institution with a strong focus on academic excellence. Students are well-behaved and attentive in their studies, and the school has high expectations for its students.

What We Offer

As an Academic Mentor, you will have the opportunity to work with students who are eager to learn and improve their English skills. You will be given your own classroom to tutor small groups of students, and you will work closely with the Head of Department for English to identify students who require additional support.

This role would be perfect for a Graduate who is considering a career as an English Teacher but wants to gain a solid amount of school experience before applying for Initial Teacher Training.
