At Sainsbury's, we're committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences and driving business growth. As a Finance Analyst in our Retail Finance team, you'll play a critical role in supporting our Save and Invest to Win initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end procedures and ensure timely reporting.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Assist in evaluating capital projects, ensuring financial hurdles are met, and protecting key business metrics.
  • Champion capital procedures and governance.
  • Create and manage financial models, including budgeting and outer-year forecasting.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis on individual savings projects to inform decision-making.
  • Conduct risk and variance analysis.
  • Develop and present end-of-month reports.
  • Gain a deep understanding of Sainsbury's operating model.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate strong finance analytical skills.
  • Develop and maintain non-financial business relationships.
  • Hold a qualified or part-qualified accounting certification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
  • Have financial systems knowledge (preferable Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Be able to explain financial processes and concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience in retail business is desirable but not essential.
  • Proven ability to meet and manage deadlines.
  • Ability to challenge and hold stakeholders to account.
