Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a company vehicle to deliver products to customers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure the vehicle is in a roadworthy condition.
  • Report any faults, breakdowns, or accidents to the management team.
  • Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle, including cleanliness.
  • Ensure sufficient quantities of fuel are taken for the day's work.
  • Collect goods returned for credit, mail, cheques, or delivery bins and return them to the branch.
  • Ensure Housekeeping standards are maintained.
  • Deal with damages or breakages promptly and correctly, following special procedures for HazChems.
  • Maintain a smart appearance at all times.
  • Interact with external customers and maintain good customer relations.
Requirements:
  • A full driving license relevant to the vehicle being driven.
  • Over 21 years of age for insurance purposes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer care.
  • Intermediate numeracy and literacy.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience of multi-drop delivery driving.
  • Route planning experience.
Working Relationships:
  • Constant interaction with external customers.
  • Regular liaison with other drivers and members of the transport team.
Level of Decision Making:
  • Act on own initiative and work unsupervised.
  • Monitor the condition of own vehicle and report damages or faults.
  • Make decisions regarding the vehicle's roadworthiness.
Additional Information:

Drivers are required to maintain a smart appearance due to their constant interaction with external customers.
