About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Product Development Manager to join our team at Saffron Building Society. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in driving commercial growth and ensuring we meet complex customer needs through new product development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead New Product Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive new product development strategy, involving multiple product launches and lending policy enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with colleagues across the organization to identify customer needs, assess risk, design solutions, and deliver products to market.
  • Maintain Regulatory Awareness: Stay up-to-date with regulatory, political, and economic developments to identify opportunities and threats, and recommend enhancements to our existing product range.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Foster excellent working relationships with internal partners, including Change, IT, Risk, Retail, Business Development, and Marketing Teams, to deliver new products smoothly, on-time, and on-budget.
  • Manage Product Approvals: Oversee the approval process for new products through key committees and implementation groups, ensuring all proposals are supported by comprehensive commercial analysis and operational evaluation.
  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction: Ensure all new products meet customer needs by identifying and prioritizing new product solutions, project managing launches, and ensuring relevant staff are briefed on product details and changes.
Requirements
  • Mortgage Market Knowledge: Possess detailed knowledge of the mortgage market and lending practice, gained through previous product management roles or experience as an underwriter, business development manager, or mortgage advisor.
  • Risk Management: Understand risk considerations for new product development within a regulated financial services environment.
  • Commercial Awareness: Demonstrate commercial awareness and ability to quantify commercial benefits, including business cases.
  • Project Management: Possess project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, including influencing and negotiation skills.
