We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Nurse to join our Critical Care Unit at Whittington Hospital NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Care
- Assess and plan the delivery of patient care, taking responsibility for implementing and evaluating that care.
- Undertake the introduction to Critical Care work base module, which will gain 30 credits at level 6 (degree level) or level 7 (MSc level).
- Carry out nursing responsibilities with high standards of care, according to Trust Policies, Practice and Clinical Guidelines and National Critical Care guidance.
- Ensure that documentation is comprehensive, up to date and reflects the nursing care/interventions given to patients.
- Team Working and Communication
- Communicate daily with patients, relatives and carers to ensure they are informed of nursing goals and medical objectives.
- Provide support for relatives and patients in a sensitive and respectful manner.
- Exhibit a thorough awareness of the patient activity in the entire unit, regardless of the patient allocation system employed on a shift basis.
- Professional Development
- Be responsible for their own professional development and updating, by reading the nursing press, attending relevant courses both in-house and external, in line with the NMC requirements.
- Ensure all professional performance is underpinned by NMC documents, Code of Professional Conduct and Revalidation.
