Eating Disorders Specialist Support Officer

First Steps ED, a leading eating disorder charity, is seeking a Specialist Support Officer to be based at Lincoln University. The successful candidate will work 2-3 days onsite per week, supporting university students with our Eating Disorders In Student Services and liaising with partners at Lincolnshire NHS Partnership Foundation Trusts.
Main Responsibilities
As a Specialist Support Officer, you will provide peer support to university students referred to EDISS, helping them realise their goals as agreed within their care plan. You will work with individuals to access our services, including one-to-one peer support, Guided Self-help, psychoeducation programmes, and support groups.
Key duties include managing a caseload of university students, arranging initial assessment appointments, and planning and facilitating psychoeducation workshops. You will also support NHS Primary Care and Secondary Care referrals and develop a rapport with stakeholders to build person-centred support plans and risk assessments.

Person Specification
To be successful in this role, you will have at least one year's experience of working with people with eating disorders and/or mental health difficulties. A good understanding of the pathways and services is an advantage, and full induction and training will be provided. You will have a Level 2 GCSE, NVQ, or O Level grade C or above, and postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline are desirable.
