Structures Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities- To lead and supervise allocated personnel effectively in providing structural support for Operations and UMT teams.
- Promote a Safety and Just culture within the team, ensuring adherence to all company policies and procedures at all times.
- Assume duties as Operations Manager when required.
- Maintain accurate labour requirements for structures support on all projects in work.
- Communicate internal technical updates to Operations leadership and project management teams on assigned sheet metal tasks.
- Proactively drive continuous improvement within the team and foster accountability for assigned tasks.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of IOR and Accident reports as necessary.
- Highlight issues to the Operations leadership before scheduled GEMBA walks or ensure timely escalation to relevant leadership teams.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to manage resources, motivate, and develop the team.
- Ensure team productivity when no structures work is available.
- Guarantee that team members remain up-to-date with Read & Signs.
- Oversee team compliance with environmental and Health & Safety regulations/guidelines.
- Evaluate the qualifications and competence of personnel assigned to tasks to ensure they can perform them effectively.
- Monitor workmanship standards and regulatory compliance to maintain aircraft airworthiness.
- Ensure documentation is current and tasks are completed efficiently, adhering to quality standards while using applicable technical data.
- Provide input on future GSE, tooling, and consumable requirements to the Operations Manager and Director of Operations.
- Support business change initiatives while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
We offer a competitive salary range £60,000-£80,000 per annum, based on experience, plus benefits.
Requirements- A recognised aeronautical training certificate for aircraft mechanics or workshop tradesmen.
- Up-to-date EWIS, FTS, HF training certifications.
- Demonstrated experience managing sheet metal workers in AOG, line, and base maintenance environments, with simultaneous support for multiple projects.
- A comprehensive understanding of Environmental, Health & Safety rules, Human Factors, Human performance/limitations, and relevant regulations impacting safety and environmental aspects of aircraft maintenance operations.
- An in-depth knowledge of Part M/CAMO roles and responsibilities, including interactions with 145 MROs.
- The ability to make sound and logical decisions under pressure on structures tasks.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills, along with strong written and verbal abilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to planned and ad-hoc projects involving sheet metal tasks.
- The capacity to escalate unresolvable customer, technical, compliance, or personnel-related issues effectively.
- Experience growing individual capability through motivating, coaching, and developing others.
- Intermediate to advanced computer literacy, with an excellent grasp of Engineering IT systems.
- Ability to delegate tasks, encourage teamwork, and demonstrate consideration and respect in all aspects of work.
- Accountability for personal work and ongoing professional development.
