About the Role

We are seeking a caring and compassionate Support Practitioner to join our team in Lochaber (Fort William). As a Support Practitioner, you will provide respite care to individuals with caring responsibilities, allowing them to take a well-deserved break.

Carr Gomm is a leading social care and community development charity. Our service in Lochaber (Fort William) provides respite breaks to people with caring responsibilities. We believe in the power of person-centred support and the importance of ensuring that carers have the chance to take a break when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respite care to individuals with caring responsibilities
  • Support carers to take a break and maintain their own well-being
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure high-quality care and support
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carers and their loved ones
What We Offer
  • 35 days holiday per year, rising to 40 with service (pro-rata)
  • Paid travel time and additional mileage contributions of 45p per mile
  • Carr Gomm will cover the cost of PVG application and reimburse the SSSC registration fee for all new workers
  • £200 Recommend a Friend Scheme (T&Cs apply)
  • Fully funded SVQ qualification with support from a dedicated team
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption, and sick leave
  • Time and a half payment for any time worked over 37.5 hours per week
  • A Defined Contribution pension scheme, with incremental employer contribution and credit union membership
