Vendor Management Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Vendor Management Specialist to join our team at Novartis.

About the Role

In this key role, you will be responsible for managing vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong understanding of clinical operations and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement vendor management strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Provide mentorship/coaching and identify training needs, preparing and developing adequate training materials.
  • Ensure trial site selection, activation, enrollment, resource allocation, timelines, and budget commitments are delivered per established trial objectives.
  • Report technical complaints/adverse events/special case scenarios related to Novartis products within 24 hours of receipt.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree required, with advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years working experience and excellent knowledge of clinical operation processes and vendor management.
  • Demonstrate strong people management skills in a matrix environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of GxP and ICH regulations.
  • Very good knowledge of clinical trial design and mapping to supplier requirements.
  • Thorough and technical understanding of Novartis specifications for supplier-provided services.
  • Vendor management; outsourcing, contracting, sourcing of clinical services.
  • Results-driven: demonstrated ability to complete projects on time.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams and a matrixed environment.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Very good problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated willingness to make decisions and take responsibility for such.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven networking skills and ability to share knowledge and experience amongst colleagues.
