Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. The successful candidate will work closely with children who have mental health difficulties, display challenging behaviour, and have learning disabilities such as Autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with Special Educational Needs in a Primary Mainstream School
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils with challenging behaviour and mental health difficulties
  • Assist with lesson planning and preparation, and contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and psychologists, to provide comprehensive support to pupils

Requirements:

  • Graduate or experienced teaching assistant with a degree graded 2:2 or above
  • Previous experience working with SEN children and challenging behaviour
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and desirable restraint training
  • Ability to commit to a full academic year
