We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support to our specialist services within ophthalmic outpatient clinics, day case, and emergency eye clinic.

Main Responsibilities:

• Support the productive operation of the clinic environment by undertaking a range of non-clinical activities
• Provide a range of support to specialist services within ophthalmic outpatient clinics, day case, and emergency eye clinic
• Conduct visual assessments and support nurse-led injection clinics
• Prepare patients for surgery and ensure safe, personal, and effective care throughout their stay

Person Specification:

• English language and maths GCSE level 4 or above or equivalent
• Proven ability to work in a team and be supportive of team members
• Clear and accurate record keeping, written and verbal skills
• Able to prioritise workload and maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work with change and have a flexible attitude
