We are seeking a skilled NI Fitter to work out of our Bathgate Office in Scotland. The role involves measuring and setting out lift/escalator installations in accordance with approved procedures. Additionally, the successful candidate will comply with statutory regulations and organisational safety.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Install lift/escalator well and ancillary equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
  2. Install traction equipment in accordance with approved procedures, including the siting, assembly, fitting, alignment, and adjustment of lift/escalator equipment.
  3. Install lift ropes and adjust in accordance with approved procedures, including the installation of suspension, safety, and governor ropes.
  4. Install lift doors and frames in accordance with approved procedures, including manual and power-operated solid sliding doors, multi-leaf doors, hinged doors, collapsible gates, shutter gates, and bi-parting doors and shutters.
  5. Check and set the lift/escalator installation in accordance with approved procedures, including final checks and adjustments prior to final test and commissioning.
  6. Carry out site surveys.
  7. Inform the supervisor of work progress, hours spent, and any non-compliance.
  8. Communicate with the customer and supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction.
  9. Attend all relevant training sessions.
  10. Carry out works in accordance with the Company's Quality Corporate policy.
  11. Work in accordance with the Company's Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements.
  12. Contribute to the Company's safety objectives by maintaining and monitoring current safety systems, implementing agreed changes to the safety management system, and setting a personal example of safe behaviour.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. Hold a minimum NVQ level 3 qualification in Lift/Escalator Installation or equivalent.
  2. Possess a valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
  3. Have more advanced product and installation knowledge/experience.
  4. Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  5. Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  6. Ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
  7. Good communication skills at different levels.
  8. Good punctuality.
  9. Manual dexterity, requiring the use of hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting and the operation of various hand and power tools.
  10. Full UK driving license.
