At DNA Life Sciences, we are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Research and Development to lead our preclinical research efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive research strategies to drive the discovery and development of novel CNS therapeutic products.
  • Manage and oversee daily research activities, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Lead the development of pharmacology data and create hypotheses to inform development strategies in CNS therapeutic areas.
  • Coordinate with external partners, including CROs, academic centers, and regulatory agencies, to achieve strategic research objectives.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of preclinical regulatory documents and interactions with regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Development team and Chief Medical Officer to design and implement trial protocols.
  • Partner with the Intellectual Property team to identify and secure IP from research activities.
  • Ensure that all research activities adhere to SOPs and regulatory guidelines, maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Design and implement nonclinical programs in compliance with ICH requirements, ensuring smooth phase transitions.
  • Maintain Preclinical GxP and Health & Safety standards through ongoing training and education.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • PhD in Pharmacology or a related field, with extensive senior-level experience in Pharmacology and Preclinical research within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven expertise in preclinical drug development legislation and guidelines, with a strong track record of scientific technical writing for regulatory documents and publications.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with experience presenting at national and international forums.
  • Strong budget management and organizational skills, with effective problem-solving and time management abilities.
  • Leadership experience in team management and development, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, EndNote, literature search engines, and scientific software (e.g., GraphPad).
