Electrical Test Engineer / Approved Electrician

Bainbridge Electrical Limited is a leading electrical engineering company based in the heart of the stunning English Lake District. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Test engineer to join our team due to our continued success and increasing demand for our services.

  • Manage the Electrical team, including regular meetings and performance evaluations.
  • Attend and estimate electrical jobs, including installations, testing, remedial work, and repairs.
  • Prepare tender packages and produce quotations for new works, electrical testing, and additional work on existing projects.
  • Oversee project management, scheduling of sub-contract and in-house labor, and manage electricians and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, Health and Safety regulations on site.

The role requires running multiple electrical projects successfully while meeting defined timescales and quality standards in an organized manner. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, including Health and Safety regulations on electrical work, producing risk assessments and method statements.
  • Producing and/or signing off electrical test sheets or documentation required on the work.
  • Delivering Electrical works on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
  • Assisting with site commercial and technical queries.
  • Preparing quotes for any additional works and new work.
  • Ensuring all site documentation is completed (test sheets, point of work risk assessments, electrical permits, etc.).
  • Issuing final documents to clients (drawings, certificates, O&M manuals).
  • Working with NICEIC qualifying supervisors to ensure best practice on installations, maintaining the company's high standards.
  • An appetite to learn new skills working on industrial installations, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • The ability to carry out testing on electrical installations and correctly record results for the production of electrical certification.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Level 3 City and Guilds Electrical Technical Certificate.
  • NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations.
  • City and Guilds 2391 Test and Inspection Qualification.
  • A current valid JIB/ECS card.
  • Previous experience in the water industry is beneficial but not essential.
