Job Title: Education Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Education Support Worker to join our team at an excellent secondary school in Northampton. The school caters for 48 students aged 11-19 with social emotional needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evidencing individual learning programmes 1:1 or in small groups, including undertaking appropriate risk assessments. They will also maintain an awareness of safeguarding and report any concerns promptly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, deliver, and evidence individual learning programmes 1:1 or in small groups
  • Maintain an awareness of safeguarding and report any concerns promptly
  • Implement strategies to support pupils with Special Educational Needs to access learning throughout the school day
  • Provide specific and targeted support to individual pupils, ensuring safety while supporting access to learning activities
  • Encourage the development of strategies for young people to manage behaviour, anger, and frustration
Requirements:
  • Experience of working with children and young people
  • An interest in supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning
  • An ability to effectively and positively manage challenging behaviour
  • Professional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Good general standard of education (GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent in English and Maths) and IT proficiency
  • Ability to transport pupils, requiring a valid driving license and access to a car
