Job Title: Children's Oncology Nurse Specialist

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Oncology Nurse Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our paediatric oncology multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert clinical care and support to children and their families affected by haematological malignancies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide holistic care to children and families from diagnosis to long-term follow-up, including palliative and end-of-life care.
  • Administer chemotherapy treatment and maintain competence on the intrathecal chemotherapy register.
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the child and family.
  • Communicate sensitive information to parents and families, and act as an advocate for the child.
  • Support healthcare professionals in identifying children requiring oncology palliative care.
Requirements:
  • Registered nurse on the relevant part of the NMC register.
  • Level 7 Post Grad Cert (Min 60 Credits), Master's Degree within relevant specialty or equivalent knowledge.
  • Specialist training/qualification in area of practice.
  • Experience in leading learning in practice and supporting colleagues to promote learning.
