Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medicine and Oncology Nurse to lead our acute oncology service. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

About the Position

This is a full-time Band 7 position that involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for leading the development and updating of referral guidelines and policies for the service, as well as managing and escalating medical emergencies appropriately.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead in the development and updating of referral guidelines and policies for the service.
  • Manage and escalate medical emergencies appropriately.
  • Manage medical complexity.
  • Complete episodes of care which may include referral for further assessment, treatment, and care appropriately.
  • Work towards safe and timely discharge and/or transfer of care of patients from or between hospitals and services.
Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience at a senior level (Band 7 or above) in cancer or acute care. You should also have experience in service development and implementation of change.

The estimated salary for this position is around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a competitive salary for a Band 7 position in the NHS.
