Geotechnical Engineer Opportunity at RSK Group
We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in the UK. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity that requires technical, commercial, and site management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake Phase 1 desk studies to identify potential geotechnical issues.
- Liaise with clients, engineering supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Set up and organise ground investigation works to gather relevant data.
- Supervise intrusive investigation activities, including drilling, trial pitting, and in-situ testing.
- Log samples to BS 5930+A2 technical standards and schedule laboratory tests.
- Process field and laboratory results to inform project decisions.
- Write clear and concise reports that meet client expectations.
Person Specification:
- BSc degree level qualified in geology, civil engineering, or a related environmental subject is essential.
- Previous UK ground investigation site experience is also essential.
- MSc in a geotechnical or engineering geology discipline is preferable, but not essential.
- The ability to log samples to BS 5930+A2 technical standards is a must.
- A good knowledge of the principal soil and rock strata encountered in the UK is necessary.
- The ability to interpret geological maps and published geological data is also required.
- A basic understanding of water, ground, and soil gas monitoring techniques is beneficial.
- The ability to work well within a team environment and be flexible to work nationally or internationally is essential.
- A full UK driving licence is also essential.
Salary and Benefits:
- The salary for this position is up to £35,000 depending on experience.
