Salary
The estimated salary for this role is around £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. This includes a generous annual holiday allowance and membership of our defined benefit pension scheme.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) maintenance specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and MOT testing on our fleet of HGVs, as well as other vehicles operated by the council.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake checks, and tire rotations;
- Perform repairs and replacements of parts, as needed;
- Conduct MOT tests on HGVs and other vehicles;
- Ensure all work is carried out to a high standard and in compliance with relevant regulations;
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve departmental goals.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in HGV maintenance and repair;
- Excellent mechanical skills and attention to detail;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Valid driving license and ability to operate heavy goods vehicles.
