Job Summary

The Health and Safety Advisor will provide professional services to Clarksons Port Services (CPS) and Gibb Group in the UK and Holland. The role covers a total of 25 locations and requires travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development - Continuously strive for excellence in Health and Safety management, working with external consultants as needed.
  • Policy Review - Review and approve all Compliance Policy Arrangements for the companies.
  • Culture Promotion - Promote a positive and continuing Health and Safety culture in accordance with the Group Health & Safety Strategy, Policy and Standards.
  • Active Operational Monitoring - Monitor compliance within operations with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and all applicable supporting statutory provisions.
  • Audit and Review - Monitor via internal audit the conduct of all activities in a healthy, safe and protected working environment, meeting all statutory obligations.
  • Risk Management - Advise Risk Assessment and Control actions to minimize risk and demonstrate a commitment to continual improvement.
  • Consultation with Workforce - Facilitate regular discussions and review Health and Safety performance and standards at monthly intervals.
  • Investigations - Oversee Investigations and assist with sign off on any serious incident reports / RIDDORS / HSE Improvement Notices.
  • Reporting of Health & Safety - Provide a monthly Health and Safety declaration to the Group Management Board.

Requirements

  • Qualifications - NEBOSH National General Certificate (NEBCert)
  • Experience - Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
  • Professional Development - Enrolled on the IOSH IPD/CPD Scheme

Desirable Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma or in a study programme towards this qualification or equivalent.
  • Active on the IOSH CPD Scheme
  • 5 years or more relevant post NEBCert qualification
