About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant at Activate Learning, you will play a vital role in supporting our learners with complex needs to achieve their individual goals. Our learners are working towards gaining more independence, learning life and living skills, and progressing into a supported living environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting courses designed for young adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
- Working 1:1 with students, moving around the campuses, and moving across the programme as required
- Providing personal care and support, with training provided in giving medical care and support
Requirements
- Good communication skills to work with tutors and ensure the delivery of an effective programme
- Ability to provide support to students with learning disabilities and/or disabilities, some of which are complex
- E-Literate and competent in IT packages, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
- Experience of working in an FE environment, although not essential
- A level 3 Support Assistant qualification or equivalent, although not essential
