Cost Controller

We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join our team at Royal Mail. As a key member of the Fleet department, you will be responsible for making technical and cost-controlling decisions, working closely with a team of Technical Controllers, Service Advisors, and Administrators.
Main Responsibilities- Scrutinise and authorise costs for up to 150 daily jobs, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage estimate/authorisation workflows via portals, emails, and phone calls, maintaining effective communication with suppliers.
- Interface with up to 100 Maintenance Suppliers, understanding their billing structures and ensuring seamless interactions.
- Quality check compliance documentation, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Investigate Warranty violations, resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
- Report on billing accuracy of suppliers within the Maintenance network, providing valuable insights for improvement.
- Excellent IT skills, with experience in software packages including Excel, Work, and PowerPoint.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Automotive Engineering and/or Maintenance, demonstrating relevant expertise.
- 5+ years of experience working in a Workshop and/or Fleet environment, with a strong understanding of cost control and maintenance procedures.
- Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with a mix of shifts within these hours.
- £17.16 per hour, with hybrid working offered after the initial training period.
- This role is temporary, ongoing, with no end date set.
