We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Legal Specialist to join our Governance team at Barnett Waddingham LLP. This role will involve working on a hybrid basis from our offices in Cheltenham, Leeds, Glasgow, Liverpool, or Bristol.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting, negotiation, and reviewing of commercial contracts, tenders, engagement letters, NDA's, licences, and other agreements.
  • Supporting firm-wide legal issues and recommending firm-wide precedents.
  • Maintaining internal legal documents, including member agreements, terms of business, and schedules.
  • Assisting with interpretation and understanding of legislation, regulation, and external legal advice.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for external legal contacts and legal specialists.
  • Supporting matters related to property acquisition, member agreements, client agreements, supplier agreements, and tax structures.
  • Providing training and education on legal matters across the firm.
  • Supporting and implementing information security procedures and activities in accordance with Barnett Waddingham's Information Security Policy.

Requirements:

  • A qualified lawyer with experience gained in-house or in private practice.
  • Experience in dealing with contract law, including drafting and negotiating commercial agreements directly.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property, information security, and data protection, including GDPR experience.
  • Financial services, FCA regulation, and pensions experience preferred but not essential.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid remote work arrangement in Cheltenham.
