Concrete Industries Inc. is seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to join our team. This role involves performing underground work related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of pipes under the supervision of a Foreman or Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare the layout and positioning of pipes for welding or sealing.
- Accurately use GPS equipment and levels to check that grades and slopes are within the requirements of the plans.
- Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using cement or glue.
- Properly tie steel reinforcing, build and set forms, and perform light concrete finishing for cast in-place concrete structures.
- Set precast concrete structures (inlets, manholes, etc.).
- Assist with the covering of pipes with earth or other materials.
- Cut pipes to required lengths.
- Dig trenches to desired or required depths by hand or trenching tools.
- Communicate with supervisory personnel to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
- Perform other duties assigned while on the job site.
- Participate in and promote safety procedures to promote a safe working environment, including compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
- A High School diploma or GED or related field.
- Prefer a minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in underground construction.
- Technical Knowledge of materials and construction concepts.
- Ability to properly manage and prioritize resources.
- Team player, with strong leadership skills, who can operate effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of management.
- Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to navigate construction stages and landscape of a project.
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
The employee is occasionally exposed to hot and cold weather conditions.
The noise level in the office environment is usually very loud in the field.
Work may be away from home requiring overnight stays possibly a week at a time or longer.
This is a tobacco free campus and facility.
Candidate is required to meet the above qualifications, task frequency and PPE requirements. Approval of pre-employment reference & background checks, and post offer drug/alcohol testing with fit for employment screening (if required) are required as conditions of employment.
